After spending the day with my Dad's family I feel like posting a poem I wrote for them a few years ago. I am / We are so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people. I love all sides of my family. But I've only got this one poem. Maybe I need to start working on a few more...
Bit of Tibbetts

I’ve got a bit of Tibbetts in me
My family put it there
It’s in my heart and humor
In the way I care

You’ll see it when I smile,
The twinkle in my eye
That warns you oh so slyly
You’re about to be surprised

I’ve got a bit Tibbetts in me
Be careful what you do
When hanging out with me
Some might rub off on you

The Tibbetts Family shares its warmth
With friends and relations
You will never doubt that you are loved
Especially when we’re in combination

I’ve got a bit of Tibbetts in me
I’m sure that you’ll agree
It’s a part of what makes me care
For all the people who love me

My ancestry is varied
But this goes far beyond the blood
It’s not something in my DNA
It comes from being loved

I’ve got a bit of Tibbetts in me
It is more than just a name
It grew from those who have loved me
With out them I wouldn’t be the same
